Hardee's shooting: Customers watch as employee murdered at breakfast, Tragedy and horror struck on the morning of Monday, July 8, 2013, when an employee at a Hardee's restaurant in Hopewell, Virginia, was shot and killed. NBC 12 reports that the incident appears to be a domestic-related situation and it involved a man came to the restaurant, taking out a gun, and shooting a female employee.The names of the victim and suspect have not yet been revealed by the Hopewell Police Department. There is one suspect that the police are looking at.
Around 7:50 a.m. on Monday morning, the suspect came to the restaurant and had a verbal altercation with the female victim outside of the Hardee's. It was then that he took out the weapon and shot her.
Frightened customers called 911 and EMTs quickly arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to John Randolph Medical Center, but there was nothing that could be done to save her.
Police took a number of hours to investigate the crime scene as well as interview witnesses and other employees.
