The party-loving socialite, 28, was seen celebrating her newlywed status with new husband Jay Rutland in something of a raucous fashion at a post-wedding beach party on Wednesday.
Dressed in a white bikini, a sheer kaftan - and accessorised with her new wedding bling,Tamara celebrated in unusual fashion, marking the occasion by diving into the French Riviera.
The pair wed on Tuesday at the Grand Hotel Saint Jean Cap Ferrat surrounded by over 150 guests, including Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Sean Connery and Nicola Roberts.
According to the Daily Mail, F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone spent nearly $12 million on the wedding.
Bernie reportedly spent 650,000 euros (more than $1 million) to rent out 73 rooms at the Grand hotel in St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, another $3.5 million on entertainment (which included a performance by Elton John and a 30-minute Firework show), and the rest on white wine, purple cigarettes, food and who knows what else to entertain their celebrity guests for four days.
The Sun reports that Jason Statham, Paris Hilton, Sean Connery and Lionel Richie were all in attendance at the four day party. The Ecclestone guest list also included some royalty as princess Beatrice and Eugene were scheduled to attend. The Telegraph notes that the princesses chose not to attend as their grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh is still in the hospital.
Ecclestone and Rutland met last January and they were engaged within a month. Ecclestone, who recently posed in Playboy, said that it was love at first sight.
Ecclestone said: “When I met Jay, I just knew this was the man I was going to marry. When you know, you know. When you find true love, why wait? I’ve never been in a relationship before where I’ve been able to be myself and feel so comfortable so quickly.”
An $18 million wedding may sound a little expensive but it isn’t out of the ordinary for the Ecclestone family. When Petra got married to James Stunt in 2011, the Ecclestone’s spent about $18.75 million for a wedding at Rome’s Odescalchi Castle.
Petra’s mother Slavica said: It was worth every penny, because it made my daughter happy. I don’t care how much the wedding cost, as it was a once-in-a-lifetime occasion … who cares about money?”
