Beloit explosion: Cause of explosion unknown, 2 wounded in blast

Beloit explosion: Cause of explosion unknown, 2 wounded in blast, A Beloit explosion left two people wounded but fortunately rescued by emergency teams this weekend after a house exploded in Beloit, Wisconsin, the Monitor reported this Monday, July 8.

A woman, 33-years-old, and a 37-year-old man were pulled from the rubble and remains of the blasted Beloit home with serious burns and taken to a local hospital, but are in stable condition.

The Beloit explosion was heard all around the neighborhood, as two neighbors claimed that they heard a very big boom, then a loud crash, and when they looked out their windows, saw the walls blasted from the house across the street with the roof caving in.

The blast left two people injured, confirmed the report, but no deaths.

Before emergency crew members arrived on the scene of the home explosion, the witness said:

"There was a lady in there and she was saying, 'Help me, help me, I can't move my legs. We kept on telling her that help was on the way."

As seen in the photo above, everything from household knick-knacks and papers to canned goods had been tossed into the yard and neighboring homes from the shocking blast. Some parts of the roof and walls had even been blown onto other people’s houses.

"The walls went out and the roof came right down on top of everything,” added the neighbor.

Another neighbor was successfully able to put out a few small fires that were still active near the home before law officials and emergency teams made it to the Beloit home.

Once the home had been secured after the Beloit explosion, the professional rescuers were cautious in their rescue. They had to be careful not to dislodge any parts of the building when trying to get the male and female victim out of the home, as debris from the blast was still unstable.

"It's a tedious process because there's a lot of debris and we don't want the building to collapse any further,” said one officer.

A home explosion in Westminster back in June also received national news attention, though fortunately no one was killed in the incident resulting from a gas leak in the house.

The cause of the Beloit explosion is currently being investigated by local authorities.
