According to arrest reports obtained by the Picayune, Louisiana State Police booked Morgan on DWI charges and driving with no license. The report also stated that Morgan's blood alcohol content was 0.218, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
More details via the Picayune's Michelle Hunter:
A trooper happened upon Morgan sometime around midnight Saturday, asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle on the Earhart Expressway near Causeway Boulevard in Jefferson, the arrest report said. The trooper woke Morgan and had him step out of the vehicle.
But the trooper noticed Morgan seemed intoxicated, according to the report. He was swaying on his feet, smelled of alcohol and had unsteady balance and bloodshot eyes, the report said. After Morgan performed poorly on a field sobriety test, the trooper arrested him and took him to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
According to police reports, Morgan was released on $1,150 bond.
When reached by the Picayune on Tuesday, Saints spokesman Greg Bensel declined to comment on the matter.
Morgan caught 10 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns last season. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
